Canada Visa Application Centre Updates for Permanent Resident Applicants

On February 24, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that Permanent Resident applicants applying under any economic stream may now request a biometric appointment in India through the VAC webform.

This is in addition to the ongoing biometrics for applications lodged under categories of student (SP), family class priority – spouses, partners and children (FCP), Workers (WP) and Returning Students & Workers.

Returning Students and returning Workers will need to book an appointment using their current study and work permit application number listed on the new permit document & upload the new permit document instead of the Biometric Information Letters.

A prior appointment is mandatory to visit the Visa Application Centre to enroll biometrics. Appointments can be booked online by filling in the web form available.
