EB-5 Visas

Minimum Investment and Source of Funds

The EB-5 investor must contribute a minimum amount of US$800,000 if the investment is located in a Rural Area, an area with High Unemployment Area, or an Infrastructure Project. Otherwise, the investment amount is US$1,050,000. These investment amounts will remain unchanged until 2027.

In exchange for the Investor’s contribution of the minimum capital amount, the investor must acquire an ownership interest in the capital of the New Commercial Enterprise.

All of the minimum capital investment amount must have a lawful, traceable origin confirmed by detailed evidence.   The origin of the funds invested may be from savings, sale of assets, donations or loans.

EB-5 investments are overwhelmingly made by contributions of cash to the New Commercial Enterprise. On rare occasions, however, investors contribute other assets, such as equipment, technology, inventory or contractual rights. The valuation of non-cash assets is complex and are generally not accepted by EB-5 Regional Centers.

Additionally, since 2022, USCIS requires tracing of funds used by investors to pay administrative fees to EB-5 Regional Centers.
